Square Turkish Oriental Kashmir Four Seasons Hand Knotted Silk Rug. Showing distinct Indo-Persian influences, the red border is alive with tree and deer forms, while the central area is partitioned into panels like a gameboard with repeating sequences of cream, green, maroon, teal, and blue shrine motifs, each with animals sheltered beneath.
Condition: Minor staining in one corner.
Size: 92 x 96 in.
Hand-knotted in the Kashmir Valley of India, these oriental rugs are world-renowned for their exceptional workmanship and intricate floral designs. They are traditionally crafted from pure silk, wool, or silk-wool blends, featuring culturally significant motifs like the tree-of-life and the paisley. The rugs are defined by their vibrant, jewel-like color palette, which includes deep tones of sapphire, ruby, and emerald.
