Wang Yeting (王鹤亭, 1921–2005), or Wang Heting, was a distinguished Chinese porcelain artist celebrated for his refined enamel work and poetic visual storytelling. Born in Yi County, Anhui Province, he earned the nickname “Taoyuan Xiaoshanren” (桃源笑山人), or “Laughing Mountain Man of Peach Blossom Spring,” reflecting his lyrical and nature-inspired aesthetic. His porcelain paintings often featured roosters, butterflies, flowers, and traditional Chinese poems, blending technical mastery with cultural symbolism. In the 1940s, Wang’s artistry gained international recognition when his works were presented as state gifts to the United States by the Nationalist government. Today, his pieces—ranging from famille rose plaques to delicate tea sets—are highly sought after by collectors for their craftsmanship and historical significance. His legacy endures through the works of his students, such as Chun Yue (春月), and his influence remains visible in contemporary Chinese ceramic art.
