Webster & Bro Silverplate Covered Butter Dish. With incise foliate design on cloche, on four elevated feet. Marked on base.
Size: 8 1/2 x 7 1/4 x 7 1/4 in.
Webster & Bro, later known as the Webster Company, was a prominent American silversmith firm founded in the 1860s in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Best known for its sterling and silver-plated small goods such as vanity items, picture frames, baby gifts, and desk accessories, the company specialized in elegant, finely detailed designs that catered to the late Victorian and early 20th-century tastes. Their pieces often featured repoussé work, monogrammed cartouches, and graceful scroll or floral motifs. Webster & Bro eventually became part of the International Silver Company, but its early works remain collectible today for their quality craftsmanship and nostalgic charm.
