Yankel Ginzburg (Born 1945) Israeli, "Inner Light" Signed and Numbered Lithograph. Depicts flowers, foliage, abstract shapes and ladders of hope and freedom. Signed in pencil bottom right. Numbered 204/250 in pencil bottom left. Held in purple metal frame.
Overall Size: 37 x 39 1/2 in.
Sight Size: 28 x 31 1/2 in.
Yankel Ginzburg was born Yuri Zhukov in 1945 in Alma-Ata, capital of the Kazakhstan Republic. His parents were both Russian Army officers. His father, who fled from Poland during World War II, hid his Jewish ancestry, and the revelation of this in 1957 led the family to flee the Soviet Union for Israel. He graduated from the Tel Aviv Academy of Art in 1964, selling his first painting that year. His first US solo exhibition was sponsored by Yitzhak Rabin and Claudia "Lady Bird" Johnson in 1968. He works in multiple techniques, some of them three-dimensional, and his most active period was from 1979-1996, where this piece comes from.
