- Lot Description
Two 20th century Inuit carved stone figures of animals from the Belcher Islands, Qikiqtaaluk Region, Canada. Includes a figure of a whale by Isaac Amitook (Inuit, b. 1916), and a figure of a walrus with calf by Johnny Kavik (Inuit, b. 1943). Whale signed with "E9-1" disc number and walrus with "E9. 133" at undersides, both retain original "Canadian Eskimo Art" Igloo tags. Walrus with original 1970's purchase receipt from "Eskimo Art Inc" in Ann Arbor, MI. Walrus lacks bone tusks, both with some surface scratches. Up to 10 3/4" long. ESTIMATE $300-400
