A circa 1900 French style mantel clock by Ansonia Co. 8-day time and strike, spring-driven movement with enameled dial, black Roman numerals. Louis XV style gilt metal case with paste brilliants encircling the dial, transfer-decorated porcelain plaque at the base depicts Cupid whispering to a young lady, hand painted accents. The dial and movement are marked "Ansonia Clock Co., New York" along with "A" enclosed in a diamond shape. Several cracks noted to the dial and small spot of loss; some discoloration noted to the paste stones. 9 1/4 x 14 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $300-500
