A U. S. Springfield Model 1884 "Trapdoor" Cadet Rifle. 45-70 caliber, with sight. Stamped "U. S. Springfield" with eagle on the right side, "US Model 1884" on the lock, and "U" on one barrel band. Serial #19294 (last number is obscured). Walnut stock. Some areas of minor wear. Barrel 29 1/2" long, 48 1/2" long overall. ESTIMATE $400-600
