Ichiro Suzuki is currently 24th on Major League Baseball's all-time hit rankings with 3,089 career knocks. He will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on July 27 (the day after our auction closes) and ranks just ahead of Rickey Henderson, Rod Carew, and Wade Boggs on this list loaded with Hall of Famers.
In 2016, the Japanese hit king was playing for the Miami Marlins in his 17th MLB season. He reached the coveted 3,000 hit mark with a triple against the Rockies on August 7th in Denver, CO. On August 29th, the Marlins were in New York to play the Mets. In the top of the eighth, Ichiro came up to bat against pitcher Addison Reed and lined a double to center field. It was his second hit of the game and #3,011 of his career to pass Boggs on the all-time list. This is the ball hit by Suzuki for that milestone. The OML (Manfred) ball shows obvious game use and comes with a hologram from MLB Authentication (JB416567) documenting this significant double.
