- Lot Description
Offered here is a circa 1960s New York Yankees game used cap with well-worn Tim McAuliffe manufacturer tagging on the leather sweatband along with KM Pro Cap and size 7 stamps. Hall of Fame hurler Whitey Ford's No "16" is handwritten in white pen on the underside of the brim, although MEARS could not make any conclusive player attribution as it appears to have been written over a previously existing numeral. Exhibits heavy wear with appropriate specs from a player-worn cap from the Yankees dynasty era. LOA from MEARS.
