- Lot Description
This heartfelt letter from Jerry West, dated March 25, 1971, addressed to Bill Russell, features remarkable content and is autographed by "The Logo". The typed letter, signed in ink as "Jerry" with a rating of 7/8 out of 10, includes a poignant message stating, "The admiration and respect you have earned from players and fans throughout the League is just incredible and you know how privileged I feel to have known and played against you..."
During the event known as "Jerry West Night," hosted by the Lakers in 1971, Russell expressed his sentiments towards his long-time rival, saying, "The greatest honor a man can have is the respect and friendship of his peers. You have that more than any man I know … If I could have one wish granted, it would be that you would always be happy." The letter is encapsulated "Authentic" by PSA/DNA.
