Trained at the School of Plastic Arts of San Alejandro, throughout his career as an artist Bonachea has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, highlighting: Aritza Gallery. Bilbao, Spain, 2006; Arte-Sol Gallery. Ottawa, Canada, 2005; ArtCuba. Palace of the United Nations. Geneva, Switzerland; La Acacia Gallery. Havana City, Cuba, 2004. He is currently a member of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC). Throughout his extensive career, Bonachea has received numerous awards and grants, most notably the Third Prize. National Illustration Salon. Havana in 1990; Third Prize. NOMA Competition. Tokyo, Japan in 1988 or the Drawing Prize. City Salon. Havana, 1982, among many others. He has also illustrated books for children, young people and adults. His murals can be found in different provinces of the country. Part of his work is in private collections in Spain, France, United States and Switzerland.
