Gerald Cassidy was a Kentucky-born artist who studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy, National Academy of Design and the Art Students League before relocating to New Mexico. One of the founding artists of the Santa Fe Art Colony, Cassidy would make the documentation of Native American life and culture his primary artistic mission. His work can be found in many national and international museums and galleries including the Freer Collection in Washington D.C., the San Diego Museum, and the City Art Museum in Berlin, Germany.
