A LARGE BERLIN KPM HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN PLAQUE OF ST JEROME, BY EMIL ECKARDT, IMPRESSED MARKS, SECOND HALF 19TH CENTURY, of rectangular form and centering St Jerome kneeling in prayer before a large open book inscribed, "DE. BOECKEN," above "GHENWEATAM," and Greek text throughout, beneath a crucifix amidst a memento mori and all set within an ancient courtyard, signed lower left, "Emil Eckardt" above "Dresden," verso impressed scepter above "KPM" over "F," incised, height: 22 3/4", width: 18 3/4"; mounted in a conforming hand carved fruitwood frame, with relief elegant scrolling leafy vine entwined band ending on the right side amidst a beaded rosary and lit candle, height: 31", width: 26 1/4".
