Classical Upholstered Carved Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Grecian Sofa, probably New York, c. 1820, with paneled crest and scrolled arms faced with reeding and carved rosettes continuing to seat frame and floral carved panels above scrolled reeded shaped legs ending in cast hairy paw feet, ht. 33 1/2, wd. 83, dp. 24 in.
right rear leg cracked but not broken off and stabilized with a peg or a screw. Crack at the top of the same rear leg. On front, chip to the border on one panel. Wood screws may have been added (at least have been in and out - probably during reupholstery). Evidence of old circular bumpers on the back, probably to protect the wall, now removed.
