Dutch School, 17th Century
Head of an Elegant Young Woman in a Black Velvet Plumed Cap, Pearls, and Fur Collar
Unsigned.
Oil on panel, 10 3/4 x 9 in. (27.5 x 23.0 cm), framed.
Helena Fourment, wife of Rubens', Condition: Panel with hairline vertical cracks, one with a 5/8 x 1/4 in. paint loss to the u.l. corner, others with craquelure with some tenting, minor retouch.
Provenance: The estate of George Way.
Estimate $300-500
Framed dimensions are 14 x 12 x 1 1/4 in.
Framed with a fragmentary label from an Aberdeen Carver & Gilder.
