N.B. Described by National Geographic as "the man who made time stand still," Harold "Doc" Edgerton was an engineer and scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who developed a strobe flash, called a stroboscope, which enabled him to photographically freeze the motion of a bird in flight, a bullet piercing an apple, and other high-speed actions.

Condition: Sheet dimensions 15 3/4 x 19 7/8 in., dye transfer print on heavy weight paper with margins, print with accretions and abrasions visible in raking light, otherwise in excellent condition.
