McDowell-style Federal Forage Cap with 2nd Corps Badge, c. 1861-65, faded blue broadcloth body, pasteboard crown with three vent holes cut, red broadcloth 2nd Corps, 1st Division badge on lower front of crown, turned leather sweatband, twilled cotton lining with padding, remnants of an eagle on underside of the crown, and a black leather crescent-shaped visor.

Blue cloth is faded, and the chinstrap is missing, has wear appropriate to its age.
