Nobumitsu Fukui (Japanese, b. 1942)
Z
Signed and dated "Nobumitsu Fukui/1964" on the reverse, titled on a label from Dartmouth College affixed to the stretcher bar.
Oil on canvas, 84 x 58 in. (213.4 x 147.3 cm), framed.
Condition: Diagonal lines of craquelure upper left, scattered areas of craquelure, scattered scuffs and accretions, varnish inconsistencies, surface grime.
Provenance: Collected by Roland A. Gibson (1902-1986, Class of 1924), in Japan, 1963-1968; Roland A. Gibson Art Foundation, Inc.; given to present collection, 1969. Property of the Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College. Sold for the benefit of the collection.
