Northwest Coast Argillite Panel Pipe, Haida, c. 1830-50, classic openwork form, very finely carved with at least six separate creatures depicted, a reclining raven with small figure on its head, beak open to receive the tongue of another creature which rests on another below, with a double face and sitting figure at the end, (minor loss and a repair to a crack), lg. 14 1/4, ht. 3 1/4 in.
