Embossed with the Robert Henri estate stamp (R/H) l.r., dated "04" l.r., identified on an unattributed typed label (see below).
Black crayon on paper, sight size 8 x 10 1/8 in. (20.3 x 25.7 cm), framed.
Condition: Subtle handing creases, not examined out of frame.
Provenance: The estate of the artist; through to the estate of Sir Edwin A.G. Manton; Skinner, Inc., American & European Works of Art, September 12, 2008, Sale 2422, Lot 934; to the current private Maine collection.
N.B. The label appears to be from a fundraising auction, perhaps for a PBS station, and states that the drawing was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Stuart P. Feld.
Condition: Upon examining the work outside of its frame, the following information was noted:
Hinged to backing near upper corners on the reverse, mat burn, losses and small tears near lower corners and upper right corner, small nick near upper left corner, three small tears near the center of the lower edge, small tear upper right. "ARLINE BOND" watermark near left edge. Estate stamp applied to the reverse.
Framed dimensions are 15 x 17 x 1 in.
