Snider Enfield Conversion Rifle and Bayonet, c. 1866, walnut stock with light D.C. on the left side of the butt, steel lockplate marked with a crown over V.R on the tail and 1862/ENFIELD in front of the hammer, bayonet has maker's marks and rack numbers on the socket, barrel lg. 36 1/2, overall lg. 55 1/4 in.
