Wesselmann created this work as a fundraising effort in support of Médecins du Monde in an edition of 25, with 6 artist's proofs (published by the artist and Éditions de la Tempête, Paris; Tom Wesselmann Digital Corpus registration number E23). He retained the artist’s proofs, including this example which he gifted to his friend Marcus Ratliff, a fellow artist and graphic designer. Hanging instructions and hardware accompany the lot.
