Oil on canvas, c. 1888, signed 'E. F. Chapin' lower right.
14 x 21 in., 16 x 22 1/2 in. (frame).
Note: In 1888, the railway bridge depicted here was constructed over the Hudson River from Poughkeepsie to Highland, and was considered a technological wonder at the time. After nearly twenty-five years of planning and fundraising, the bridge was transformed into a pedestrian park. The 'Walkway Over the Hudson' State Historical Park opened in 2009.
