Raised on lucite stand.
The figure 17 1/4 x 4 1/2 x 3 in.
Literature: S. Reinach, Vol. IV, p. 225, no. 2.
Note: The figure is posed in an unusual contrapposto position. The contrapposto figure originated in Greece in early 5th Century B.C. It was a reaction to the stiff static pose of earlier figural works. The contrapposto suggests a more relaxed organic movement which denotes life.Property from a Distinguished Collection, New YorkNina Borowski, Galerie Archeologie, Paris, April 17,1984.
