Sumatra, 19th century, carved in a stylized anthropomorphic face, with elongated features, and incised motifs near eyes. The lid is topped with woven fiber and resin. Dark surface patina from age and handling. Mounted on a metal base. Ht. 6 ¾ in. Provenance: Private collection, Albuquerque, NM; Tad Dale, Santa Fe, NM.
