Gujarat, India, circa early 16th century (dated 1517), of typical form, the seated Jina surrounded by openwork attendant figures, deities and elephants, with copper and silver inlaid features, embellished with an unusually lavish amount of silver framing elements, the reverse heavily inscribed. In good condition with expected wear. Ht. 7 7/8 in. 20 cm. wd. 5 1/4 in. 13.3 cm.
