Consisting of a lengthy cylindrical wood shaft, peeled of its bark and tapered slightly at the butt end, a rawhide collar tightly fitted at the other end, fastening a double-edged triple-fullered broadsword blade, probably Spanish Colonial of the type used in the 18th to 19th centuries, remains of red ochre pigment on the lower third of the shaft, a patina of heavy use overall.
