China, Tang Dynasty, 618-907 A.D., an extremely rare painted wood figure of a court lady, her right arm by her side and the other raised to her waist, wearing a long sleeved garment with deep neckline, her head slightly turned to right, her hair in a high topknot. Custom stand. In very good condition with considerable green and red pigment remaining, losses to feet, some light refreshing to paint is likely as with all these. Ht. without stand 10 1/2 in.
