Hernando Gonzallo Villa (1881-1952). Two charcoal drawings from the 1940s, one titled "Indian Loves His Dog," and the other "Riding into Combat". The first depicts a scene with an Indian man crouched over his dog, with two horses behind him as well as another Indian man. It is signed in the lower right corner and dated "2-47." The second drawing depicts an Indian man on horseback riding fast while holding a war shield high in his left hand. It is signed in the lower left corner and dated "4-24-46". Each is set in a gilt frame. First drawing ht. 12, wd.18 ½, with frame 15 ¼ x 21 ¾, second ht. 13 ½, wd. 10 ¾, with frame 17 x 14 in.
