Description: In this luminous, quietly majestic work, Rinzin depicts a delicate network of branching forms that rises against a cosmic night sky suffused with a quiet glow. The interplay of organic structure and otherworldly radiance evokes a contemplative mood, inviting the viewer into a space where nature and spirit converge.
About the Artist: Born in Tibet in 1966, Pema Rinzin is a Tibetan painter and educator who trained in Dharamsala, India with master thangka artists before developing a career that bridges traditional Tibetan art and contemporary expression. He was the first Tibetan artist-in-residence at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York, where his work gained prominence in the landmark 2010 exhibition Tradition Transformed. In 2007, he founded the New York Tibetan Art Studio, the only school in New York dedicated to teaching and preserving classical thangka painting. Rinzin’s work is held in major public and private collections, including that of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
