18th c. Queen Anne Walnut Veneered Five-Drawer Shell-Front Lowboy, possibly from the shop of Joseph Davis (active 1726-62), Portsmouth, NH, circa 1730, having signature feet almost unique to his shop. Features broad overhanging molded top with quartered, booked and cross banded veneer, two over three drawers having beaded edge receivers, each with matching figured veneer and cross-banded edge, the lower center having a concave fan with centered brass knop. All raised on delicate and well-proportioned cabriole legs with scroll and bracket knee and very unusual animal paw feet. 30- 1/2" H x 34- 1/2" x 20- 1/2".
