This is a Jewish Ghetto Police Armband from the Holocaust era, featuring the blue Star of David and the words "Jüdische Ghetto Polizei". Additionally, this set includes a rare Jewish Ghetto Police Order Service Badge from Kielce, Poland, an item of extreme rarity from the period.
During the Holocaust, Jewish Ghetto Police were established in German force-occupied territories, often forced to serve as intermediaries between the NSDAP authorities and Jewish populations. These armbands were distributed by German Waffen-SS guards, granting the bearer the rank of "Polizei" within the ghetto. While these armbands were a symbol of limited authority within the ghetto system, they also represent the tragic complexity of Jewish self-administration under German WW2 rule.
The included Kielce Jewish Ghetto Police Service Badge adds another layer of historical importance, as very few examples of these service awards have survived. The item has been professionally matted and framed, ensuring its preservation for historical study and display. The badge is guaranteed authentic, while the armband is believed to be original based on period characteristics and materials.
