[Civil War] Ames Mfg. Co., Chicopee, Massachusetts, the blade fitted with a gilt wire wrapped handle and a gilt brass D shape guard. Maker name on one side of the ricasso, the other side "US 1864 A.D.K.", fitted with leather scabbard with double rings, the blade 32"l, overall with scabbard 40.25"l.
