- Lot Description
A collection of photographs on various mediums, including one (1) unmounted albumen photograph portrait of an unidentified seated U.S. military cadet; three (3) circular button-style tintype portraits mounted in brass frames; a small albumen print photograph mourning brooch; a miniature tintype album containing eleven (11) gem-sized tintype portraits; two (2) small boxes of stereoscopic glass positives totalling thirty-six (36) slides; and seven (7) glass positive and educational slides featuring famous historical figures such as Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Czar Nicholas, etc. Various sizes, largest: 5 x 4".
Provenance: Property of a private Connecticut collection.Condition
Various conditions consistent with age, one slide has a horizontal crack, the emulsion of many of the stereoscopic positive slides has flaked or faded significantly. The gem tintype book has seperated pages.
