- Lot Description
"Hell's Dungeon Part 2." Artistically and historically significant Super8 film reel directed by and featuring the acclaimed film director, Fred Halsted.
Produced by Halsted and his partner Joe Yale through their production company, Cosco Studio (est. 1975). Subject matter of the film includes gay bondage, S&M, cruising, and hitchhiking themes. Cast includes Fred Halsted, Dan Pace, and another unidentified actor. It is unknown how many examples of this film presently exist.
Notes:
Fred Halsted was an American gay pornographic actor and film director active during the 1970s and 1980s. He is best known for directing L.A. Plays Itself and Sex Garage (both released in 1972), classic examples of the early gay pornography genre that were later acquired and restored by the Museum of Modern Art. Beyond filmmaking, Halsted was a regular columnist for the gay leather magazine Drummer. He later edited and published his own magazine, Package, in 1976. He also briefly operated a Los Angeles-based sex club known as “Halsted’s".
