Charles Pabst, a native of California, earned a Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University and worked for seven years as a commercial artist before becoming a full-time painter in 1978. He is known primarily for realistic landscape paintings of the American West, especially the Southwest. His work reflects careful study of history and nature, and he often travels with his family to gather reference material. Pabst had his first sellout show of 30 paintings at the El Presidio Gallery in Tucson in 1982 and has since sold out exhibitions across the country, showing in cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Santa Fe, Jackson Hole, and Dallas. An award-winning artist, he has received numerous honors, has been consistently rated as collectible in Robert W. Brown’s Index of Southwest Art, and has been featured in Southwest Art and Art of the West magazines.
