Franz Strahalm traveled and lived all over the United States as well as Mexico City in 1909; San Antonio in 1911; and finally setting down in Dallas, as a professional landscape painter, mural painter, lecturer and teacher. Strahalm studied Art in Vienna, Hamburg, Italy, and France before moving to the United States. He exhibited with the Society of Independent Artists in 1925 and 1928, He was a member of the Alliance of Southern States Art League and a teacher / founder of the San Antonio School Fine Painting, establish 1919.
