George Kovach is known for his detailed landscapes and scenes of life in Texas and the American West. Kovach began painting while still young, later graduating from the Art Institute of Miami, and becoming a full-time artist in 1972. He was a founding member of the Texas Cowboy Artist Association, and 1976, at the request of Texas Governor Dolph Briscoe, Kovach represented Texas for the State's Cultural Achievements during the National Bicentennial celebrations in Philadelphia.
