Jessie Agnes Palmer was a Texas landscape painter who began her formal art training later in life, studying with Frank Reaugh and Martha Simkins, attending Reaugh’s summer classes in West Texas, the Carlson School of Landscape Painting in Woodstock, New York, and the Broadmoor Art Academy in Colorado Springs. She specialized in West Texas and Dallas-area landscapes, often capturing natural scenery with a delicate, realistic approach. Palmer exhibited widely, including solo shows at Dudensing Galleries in New York City and the Elisabet Ney Museum in Austin, and group exhibitions at the San Antonio Art League, Witte Museum, Fort Worth Museum of Art, Texas-Oklahoma Fair, Southern States Art League, and Texas Fine Arts Association. Her works, such as "Springtime near Dallas" and "Old Bridge", received recognition both nationally and internationally, including publication in the French journal "La Revue Moderne". She was an active member of the Texas Fine Arts Association, the Amarillo Art Association, and helped organize the Palo Duro Art Colony.
