José Antonio Rodríguez (Mexico City, Mexico, 20th century) Mi Gran Corazon (My Big Heart), folk art lamp sculpture depicting Sacred Heart in iron, brass and hand-blown glass, signed on base, dated 2009, in working condition
height 20 in. x width 9 in. x depth 7 in.
Provenance: The Estate collection of late teacher and humanitarian Douglas Rhodenbaugh, from his historic downtown Austin, Texas home. Mr. Rhodenbaugh spent decades traveling throughout Latin America assuming his vast collection of folk and fine arts, often buying pieces directly from the artisans he met on his travels.
