Kelly Donovan is a self-directed artist who developed his skills across oils, bronzes, watercolor, and pencil, drawing on a lifelong connection to horses and his experience working as a cowboy in his early teens. He cites artists James Reynolds, Howard Terpning, and Richard Schmid as influences, particularly admiring their dedication and work ethic. His carefully researched paintings and sculptures focus on historical and contemporary cowboys and horses and have been represented by galleries including Judith Hale Gallery in Los Olivos, California; Rocky Mountain Gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah; Painted Desert Gallery in Montrose, Colorado; and Sagebrush Gallery in Sun Valley, Idaho.
