Antique Mexican (Guerrero) hand-shaped and painted copper sirena (mermaid) mask with repousse method detailing, circa late-19th-to-early 20th century
height 15.5 in. x width 12.5 in. x depth 3 in.
Provenance: The Estate collection of late teacher and humanitarian Douglas Rhodenbaugh, from his historic downtown Austin, Texas home. Mr. Rhodenbaugh spent decades traveling throughout Latin America assuming his vast collection of folk and fine arts, often buying pieces directly from the artisans he met on his travels.
