Condition: Very Good-Antique; stock & forend have very light wear & handling marks commensurate with age; mostly free of pressure dents & scratches; barrel retains strong bluing with some loss of finish throughout the edges; very light scattered oxidation throughout; receiver has very light handling marks with some case colors still visible; bore is mostly very good & bright with strong rifling; some light fouling/frosting towards the chamber
Features: half octagonal barrel; folding globe front sight; buckhorn rear sight (missing elevator); tang sight; metal forend cap; checkered round pistol grip; carbine style butt plate
Marked: "E. Remington & Sons.Ilion.N.Y." on top barrel flat; "Hepburns Pat." / "Oct 7th 1879" on left side of receiver; matching serial number on receiver, lower barrel flat & forend
Notes: Only 10,000 produced 1883-1907; missing rear sight elevator
Provenance: Property from the monumental lifetime collection of a distinguished Dallas, Texas business leader and ranch owner.
