Depicts a young brother and sister huddled with flowers.
Leslie Harradine was inspired by flower sellers under the Eros statue in Piccadilly Square, London, to make a sketch off the cuff of his shirt. The striking colors and intricacy of the flowers at the children's feet are matched by the vivid reds and purples of their clothing. It's based on a Royal Doulton original from 1921. Inspired by the paintings of Augustus John, this series depicts several characters who stood in the city streets of London selling things from balloons to flowers to oranges. Royal Doulton backstamp.
