- Lot Description
This original Art Deco lithographic advertising poster by Leonetto Cappiello, titled Cognac Monnet was printed by Devambez Graveur, Paris, in 1927. Cappiello depicts a woman in a red dress with grape-like hair ornaments holding a large snifter of cognac containing a stylized sun. The illustration is set against a black ground with the French caption "..du soleil dans un verre.." and "COGNAC MONNET" in bold yellow type. The work bears the printed signature Cappiello 1927 in the lower right and publisher information for Les Nouvelles Affiches Cappiello - Devambez, Paris along the left margin. The poster has a linen backing.
