Antique 19th century etching THE NEW WILL, EVERYTHING TO MY WIFE ABSOLUTELY by artist Walter Dendy Sadler (1854-1923), etched by James Dobie.
It depicts a presumably newlywed couple reviewing the terms of the husbands will with a skeptical barrister. The work of Dendy Sadler was exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1873 through the 1890's. His subjects were usually set in the late 18th or early 19th-centuries with sentimental, romantic and humorous themes. Several of his paintings are in museum collections. Presented in a linen matte with gilt trim, and custom wood frame.
