- Lot Description
An impressive malachite commode accented with finely detailed dore bronze mounts.
The commode is executed in a flowing serpentine form, in vivid green malachite with striking natural banding and swirling patterns. The front features shaped drawers seamlessly integrated into the design, adorned with ornate gilt bronze mounts including scrolling cartouches, floral motifs, and decorative pulls. The top is a continuous expanse of polished malachite, enhancing the depth and richness of the stone. The piece stands on elegantly curved legs, each finished with gilt bronze accents.
The combination of malachite, gilt bronze, and classical architectural forms results in a visually striking and cohesive display, ideal for formal interiors or gallery presentation.
