An oil on canvas by Alexander Dzigurski II (American, b. 1968), signed lower right, depicting waves breaking along the Monterey coastline beneath a dramatic sunset sky. The artist is particularly recognized for his ability to capture the movement of Pacific surf and the effects of changing coastal light. Born in Atherton, California, Dzigurski is the son of celebrated landscape painter Alexander Dzigurski. He studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago before continuing his artistic training in California under his father.
