- Lot Description
American-made violin with carved spruce top and attractively figured tiger maple back, ribs, and neck, accompanied by a silver-mounted H.R. Pfretzschner bow and fitted hardshell case. Hermann Richard Pfretzschner (1857–1921) established one of Germany’s foremost bow-making workshops in Markneukirchen, Saxony. Awarded numerous international medals, including the Grand Prix at the 1900 Paris Exposition, the firm became renowned for producing high-quality violin bows.
Dimensions: 23.5 x 8.25 x 1.5 in.
Shipping: Free Sacramento pickup. Shipping via FedEx for $95 + 1.5% insurance (unless waived in writing).
Condition
Overall good cosmetic condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use. No major cracks or repairs observed to the body during cataloguing. The silver-mounted H.R. Pfretzschner bow is missing its heel plate and shows wear to the winding and hair. Includes fitted hardshell case.
