Height 13.5 in, width 12.5 in, depth 1 in. Painted wood plaque depicting thestate seal of Massachusetts which has remained in essentially the same form since 1780, though details changed and were standardized in 1898. At the center is the state coat of arms, which features an American Indian and a white star. Above the shield is a crest (an arm holding a sword), and on the ribbon is the state motto: &Ense Petit Placidam Sub Libertate Quietem (&By the Sword We Seek Peace, but Peace Only Under Liberty). The words &Sigillum Reipublicae Massachusettensis mean & Seal of the Republic of Massachusetts.
Condition: Good Condition, showing age. No damage or apparent defects to report. If documentation is not listed or photographed, the lot is sold without documentation. Pick-Up: The buyer is responsible for arranging pick-up and shipment of all purchased lots. If sold items have not been removed from Woodard Lipe within thirty (30) days, Woodard Lipe may charge a storage fee of $10.00 per day.
